Reflections on my Way Home
The Campers are Coming!!

The wait is over!! In about 12 hours, the first round of campers will pull into Shalimar for what will hopefully be one of the most spirit-filled, life changing weeks they’ve ever had.

I’m awfully anxious about tomorrow. Though I’ve spent the last 10 days preparing under the leadership of some very capable people, I feel ridiculously unprepared. Maybe it’s Father’s way of making me rely on him. I’m just ready to jump in and do it.

I often wonder how I’ve been so blessed through this entire process. Not only was I assigned to the best location in the country (I’ve gotten to walk on the beach nearly every night before bed…I’m in hog heaven) but I was put on what has to be the best staff Fuge has. After spending unholy amounts of time rehearsing worship services today, we gathered for a time of prayer. The leadership took turns washing our feet and praying over us. Several of us took the opportunity to pray with one another as well. The love in the room was an overwhelming sight. I love the natural bond that exists between a group of believers. Even before getting to know one another, we are all connected by the single most important aspect of our lives. That bond is beautiful to me.

So if you think of us tomorrow, pray for strength, wisdom and energy for this staff. Pray for God to speak through us, and ask that he would prepare the hearts of the students we will be meeting shortly.

Most of all, pray that he would go with us every step of the way. I don’t want to do a second of this without him.
