I got awesome presents and encouragement from my secret santa. I got to share with two of my students and see both come to know the Lord.
I had the best bible study ever. My kids were awful on the Rec field. They were so bad that I made them do jumping jacks because they blatantly refused to show any kind of enthusiasm for the initiatives. I got pretty frustrated, and I think they began to notice, because several apologized and promised they would give more effort tomorrow.
When we moved into bible study, it was like the switch was flipped. These kids opened up like nothing I’ve ever seen. They shared stories of difficult home lives, and wondered aloud how they could honor God in their relationships with parents who had hurt them. These kids are broken, but I can already see Father mending the edges. I never dreamed I would see this in a 7th and 8th grade class. I guess that’s what I get for trying to limit the Almighty. He can put me in my place anytime.
I’m in love with my kids. I’m in love with Camp. I’m in love with my Savior.
